Love, Joy And Peace

Perfect love, joy and peace cannot be produced or generated by a human being. Man is only capable of receiving and giving these. The amount he can receive from other human beings is limited because all of us give it in a limited way. But we can receive perfect love, joy and peace from God in unlimited quantities. However the more we give to others the less we are left with. Therefore we need to draw from a source that is unlimited. If we only give without drawing from God than over a period of time we will get empty and burn out. (the excitement in us immediately after a retreat and what happens after a few weeks is an experience all of us have gone through)

The love, joy and peace of God is pure. This is what man was filled with when he was created. But after the encounter with Satan everything changed. It began as a mere harmless conversation. The poison of unbelief was injected inside the mind of humans which they could have rejected but did not. This leads to making a wrong choice to reject God and accept Satan. Consequently the peace in the mind was polluted with restlessness. The love and joy in the heart was polluted with hatred and sadness.

Peace enables us to listen to God clearly and thus make the right decisions. Love motivates us to act on those decisions and joy strengthens us in our efforts. Pure love motivates us to do extraordinary things in our relationships without measuring the consequences.

The root cause of all our problems is the lack of quality time alone with the Lord. This is called personal prayer. This is the time of sanctification (purification and infilling). This is the area of first attack by Satan on believers. No wonder we struggle so much. But if we can win here than we have the upper hand.
